Payment Method
Hipcamp.com offers two options for payment to hosts: Direct Deposit and PayPal.
For US Hosts, payment for a booking is initiated the Tuesday following the Hipcamper's checkout date. Direct Deposit transactions often take 24-48hrs, so the payout may not appear in the account until the next day or two. It is not recommended to use a savings account for direct deposit as it can cause issues with deliverability. PayPal tends to deposit funds within 2-4 hours of payouts being issued.
Canadian Hosts are paid via Direct Deposit only. The payment for a booking is initiated the Wednesday following the Hipcamper's checkout date. These transactions often take 4-5 days.
Australian Hosts are also paid via Direct Deposit only. The payment for a booking is initiated the Wednesday following the Hipcamper's checkout date. These transactions often take 24-48hrs.
To add a payout method, hosts need to log into their Hipcamp account, and head to the Payouts page. In the "Manage payments and taxes" section, they can add their bank info (or PayPal email address for US) so the payouts can start being processed. All fields must be filled in completely, and then a notification should appear that everything has been saved correctly. Any Hosts who will receive payouts via direct deposit will need to create a free Stripe account, which is Hipcamp's secure payment processor. Stripe will require the host to provide certain information.
Please note that the above information is subject to change and it's always a good idea to check the latest on the official website.

The cancellation policy the host has selected will appear in the 'Getting there’ section of their site page. You will also see it again, and be asked to agree to it, right before confirming your booking or booking request. The cancellation policy corresponds to the 'check-in' time the host has selected. For example, if their 'check-in after' time is 2pm and they have a Flexible Cancellation Policy, you will get a full refund if you cancel before 2pm the day before. If you cancel at 5pm the day before your check-in, there will be no refund. If you are requesting to book a site, but you cancel your request before the host accepts it, you will not be charged and none of the above policies will apply. The pending charge on your credit card will be released to you within seven business days, usually sooner than that. Cancellation policies may be superseded by extenuating circumstances or cancellations by Hipcamp for any other reason permitted under the Terms of Service.
